Sampled combines an illustration of a landscape made out of audio tape with audio and time based elements. While the landscape drawing is stationary, the three smaller loops of tape are turned by motors that run over three different tape heads that read a recorded drum loop, a sampled piano loop, and a sampled string loop. The heads read this information and send it all to an adjacent set of headphones where a continuously variable musical composition is heard. Over time, the information on the tape deteriorates leaving nothing but static and pops coming from the out-of-date medium.
